This policy explains what information the Bolzo Android app ("Bolzo", "we", "us") collects, why, and what choices you have. Bolzo helps you practise spoken English.

1. Information we collect

Account

• When you sign in with Google: your name, e-mail address and, if Google provides it, the address of your profile picture.
• A sign-in token so the app can keep you signed in.

What you tell the app

• Your choices in the app: your city, interests, English level, correction setting, daily call time, gender (optional) and profile photo (optional).
• Your learning progress: lessons, points, streaks.

Your profile photo, progress, saved chats and the short notes Neha keeps about your earlier calls (for example a topic you talked about) are stored on your phone.

Voice and text while you practise

• Microphone: used only inside the app, when you speak in a lesson, a chat, Neha's daily call or a call with another learner. We do not store your voice recordings.
• Speech to text: your speech is turned into text on your phone, partly by the app itself and partly by your phone's own speech recognition service (for example Google's), which follows its own privacy policy and may work online.
• Text of the conversation: to write the replies, corrections and Hindi meanings, the text of what you said and a few recent lines of the conversation are sent to our server, which passes them to our AI provider (OpenAI) for that request.

Live calls with other learners ("Humans")

• To match you, our server keeps your first name, chosen picture, interests and a user ID in memory while you are waiting or in a call.
• Call audio travels between the two phones through our relay server, encrypted (WebRTC DTLS-SRTP). Calls are not recorded. The relay keeps your IP address hidden from the other learner.
• We keep short technical logs of how a call was set up (for example "connecting" or "connected", with user IDs and time, never audio) to fix connection problems, and reports you send about another learner (who reported whom, the reason and the time).

Technical information

Our servers keep short operational logs (such as time, request type and errors) for security and to keep the service running.

2. How we use information

• To run the app: sign-in, lessons, conversations, corrections, translations, Neha's daily call and live calls.
• To keep the service safe and fair: usage limits, abuse reports, fixing errors.

We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising or analytics SDKs.

3. Who we share it with

• OpenAI (AI text replies, corrections and translations), under its API terms.
• Google (sign-in, your phone's speech recognition service, app distribution through Google Play).
• Oracle Cloud (hosting of our servers).
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

• Account information: until you delete your account.
• Conversation text: we do not keep conversation logs on our server beyond short operational logs.
• Live-call matching data: only while you are waiting or in a call. Call set-up logs and reports: as long as needed for safety and fixing problems.
• Data on your phone: until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

5. Your choices and rights

• Change your name, gender, photo and settings in the app's Profile.
• Turn off the microphone permission at any time in your phone's settings (the speaking features then stop working).
• Delete your account and data: see Delete your account.
• Ask us for a copy or correction of your information, or raise a concern, at support@shellgenius.com.

6. Children

Bolzo is not directed at children under 13. Live calls with other learners are only for users aged 18 or older.

7. Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to our servers is restricted. No method is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
